A new controversial study suggests that red and processed meat is probably not harmful to our health.

Bradley Johnston, leader of the 14-member international team who ran the study, and associate professor of community health at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada had this to say:

“Based on the research, we cannot say with any certainty that eating red or processed meat causes cancer, diabetes or heart disease”

Since the release of this new study, there has been a divide in its reception.

Some scientists agree that the evidence from other studies around the world have been poor. Some completely disagree with the study, and have penalised them for not considering the environmental impact of red/processed meat production.

Feedback from the rest of the world has echoed these views.

Based on this new study, and what you previously understood, are you likely to change your eating habits?
