Does MTV’s new show “Ghosted” romanticise stalking?

Does MTV’s new show “Ghosted” romanticise stalking?

In a new MTV show, two hosts (Rachel Lindsay and Travis Mills) will help individuals track down people who’ve ghosted them.

“Ghosting” is the practice of ending a personal relationship with someone by suddenly and without explanation withdrawing from all communication.

The trailer shows participants crying, and anxiously sitting down in front of their “ghost”.

Despite the programme echoing the very popular MTV show “Catfish” – in which the hosts bring together people who have formed online relationships but have never actually met – this trailer has sparked some controversy.

Opinions are split on whether this is romanticising the concept of stalking.
